John P. Connor

John P. Connor

John P. Connor is the owner and manager of Stobierski & Connor.  Attorney Connor was selected for inclusion into the Top Attorneys of North America 2019-2020 edition by The Who's Who Directories. 


Attorney Connor is a life time resident of Western Massachusetts. He has practiced law in Massachusetts since 1994 and in Connecticut since 1995.  Attorney Connor has extensive litigation experience.  He has successfully litigated a wide range of civil and criminal matters at both the trial and appellate court levels.  He currently concentrates his practice on personal injury, workers compensation, civil and criminal litigation, employment law, real estate, estate planning and estate administration.


Attorney Connor has successfully litigated a wide range of cases including complex personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice and workers compensation and employment matters.  In all these areas he has consistently maximized recovery for our clients and has obtained some of the county’s largest settlements.  Attorney Connor is an experienced trial attorney and has tried nearly one hundred cases to verdict over the course of his career.


Attorney Connor has extensive experience handling commercial and residential real estate transactions.  He has handled the purchase and sales of numerous businesses.  He also has vast experience in estate planning and estate administration.


Attorney Connor is the President-Elect of the Franklin County Bar Association.  He is a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys.


Attorney Connor began his career at Connor, Sandman & Weisser where he managed a multifaceted practice.  His practice areas included motor vehicle liability, premises liability, construction liability, medical liability, worker’s compensation, real estate transactions, estate planning, probate, small business consultation and criminal defense.  In 2001 Attorney Connor became an associate at Smith & Brink, P.C. where his practice included insurance coverage, construction liability, premises liability, motor vehicle tort, defense of bad faith claims allegations, class action defense and insurance special investigations.  Attorney Connor’s diverse background and experience and his unique insight into the insurance industry and practices make him a highly effective advocate for our clients.


Attorney Connor is a 1989 Graduate of the University of Massachusetts where he graduated cum laude with a B.A. in History.  He is a 1994 graduate of Western New England University School of Law.  Attorney Connor is currently admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Connecticut as well as the U.S. District of Court, District of Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut.


Attorney Connor was elected to the Board of Selectman in the Town of Hadley in 2001 where he served two terms until 2007.  He served as Chairman of the Board of Selectman from 2005-2007.


Attorney Connor lives in Hadley with his wife and two daughters.  He is an avid outdoorsman, skier and triathlete.

Allison K. Bourbeau is an alumna of Turners Falls High School and third-generation resident of Franklin County.


Attorney Bourbeau began her career at Rappoport Degiovanni & Caslowitz in East Providence, Rhode Island. Her practice areas included motor vehicle liability, personal injury, premises liability, medical malpractice, product liability, unemployment, and social security disability. In 2015, Attorney Bourbeau became an associate at Bulkley, Richardson and Gelinas, LLP in Springfield, Massachusetts, where her practice focused primarily on professional malpractice defense.


Attorney Bourbeau joined Stobierski & Connor as an associate in January 2017. Since joining the practice, her practice areas have included workers’ compensation, employment discrimination, real estate, estate planning and probate, personal injury, medical malpractice, and wage act violations.


Attorney Bourbeau is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and Pre-Law. She is a cum laude graduate of Roger Williams University School of Law. She is currently admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and Rhode Island as well as the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court, District of Rhode Island.


Attorney Bourbeau currently resides in Whately with her husband and daughter.  She enjoys hiking with her family and golden retriever, Aspen.

John J. Stobierski

John J. Stobierski

John J. Stobierski is Of Counsel to Stobierski & Connor.  He founded Stobierski & Stobierski, now Stobierski & Connor in 1990. 


John Stobierski is a fourth generation resident of Franklin County.  He has practiced law in Greenfield for over 26 years and is the founder of one of the county’s largest law firms.  John has established himself as one of the premiere litigators in Western Massachusetts.  In October of 2007, he won one of the largest jury verdicts in the history of Franklin and Hampshire Counties.  After a three week trial, a jury awarded 3 million dollars in a gas explosion case which he later settled for 5.25 million dollars.


Since 2002 Attorney Stobierski had been the leading advocate for the victims of clergy sex abuse in Western Massachusetts.  He had successfully litigated and negotiated over 80 cases resulting in settlements in excess of 10 million dollars.  Attorney Stobierski had handled hundreds of automobile accident cases ranging from death and catastrophic injuries to minor vehicle accidents.  He has litigated serious malpractice injuries resulting in substantial settlements.  In the last 22 years, Attorney Stobierski has likewise been handling workers compensation cases attempting to get injured workers the proper benefits. He also serves as general counsel to Deerfield Academy and Eaglebrook School.


Attorney Stobierski graduated from Deerfield Academy in 1978 and double majored in economics and political science at Drew University where he became Harry S. Truman scholar.  In 1986 he graduated from Suffolk University Law School, where he was a member of the National Trial Team and was elected nationally by his fellow law students as one of two law students to the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates.  In 1986, he opened a general practice in Greenfield, Massachusetts and in 1990 he formed the firm Stobierski & Connor with his wife, Pamela.


Since 1990, Attorney Stobierski has concentrated in personal injury litigation and earned a reputation for achieving superior results in complex and in sometimes groundbreaking precedent setting matters.


Attorney Stobierski has also been involved in numerous community and public service activities.  He has served on Deerfield’s Finance Committee since 2004.  He was elected to two terms as a Franklin County Commissioner in 1990’s.  He is a former Chair of Franklin County Democrats and current Chair of the Deerfield Democrat Town Committee.  Since 1996 he has served as a governor of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers.  Attorney Stobierski is an avid downhill skier and an alpine race coach for Eaglebrook School.  He has coached Pop Warner Football, Little League Baseball and soccer in Deerfield.  John enjoys traveling and is a voracious New England sports fan, especially the Red Sox.

Pamela H. Stobierski

Pamela H. Stobierski

Pamela H. Stobierski is retired.  She currently resides in Deerfield with her husband, John Stobierski.  Attorney Stobierski was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She received her BA from Smith College in 1983 and juris doctorate degree from Suffolk University in 1988.  Attorney Stobierski is a member of the Franklin County Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association of Deerfield.  In 2018, Greenfield Savings Bank named Attorney Stobierski chair of its board of directors.  She has been a trustee of Greenfield Savings Bank since 2008.
